In the charming heart of Ljubljana’s historic center, a unique creative experience is quietly unfolding. Nika Klinec Jewellery, a studio deeply rooted in sustainable design and artisanal craftsmanship, invites visitors to step into the world of handmade jewellery through intimate, hands-on workshops. Led by designer and maker Nika Klinec, these sessions go far beyond traditional jewellery-making—they are immersive explorations of slow design, personal expression, and creativity.

Hosted in Studio K2 on Križevniška Street, the workshops introduce participants to the art of silversmithing using 100% recycled sterling silver. Whether creating a ring, pendant, or a wax model to be cast in silver, one works with a range of tools—saws, files, hammers, torches—and is guided every step of the way by expert instruction. Each piece is thoughtfully designed and crafted by the participant, resulting in a unique object with narrative.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Sessions begin with design ideation using templates suitable for beginners and plenty of space for personal expression. Participants then learn how to use the tools before diving into the making process—cutting, shaping, soldering, hammering, and polishing their piece to completion. For those looking for a more involved experience, a two-day wax-modelling workshop is also available, where designs are first sculpted in wax and later cast in silver.

What makes this experience exceptional is not just the end result. All materials, down to the packaging, are eco-certified, FSC-approved, and plastic-free, sourced through ethical supply chains. The entire process reflects Nika’s dedication to sustainable, thoughtful design—her belief that jewellery should be not only beautiful, but meaningful and responsibly made.

More than just a creative exercise, Nika’s workshop offers a rare chance to connect with the heritage of handcrafted design in a deeply personal way. It’s an opportunity to slow down, work with your hands, and walk away with something truly yours—a tangible memory, made from reclaimed silver and shaped by your own intention.
